Description
The Crown Inn is an 18th-century inn, with a core that may be older and later additions. It is built of red brick with plain tile roofs and brick stacks. The building has a two-cell range that is aligned north-west to south-east, facing south-west, with extensions at the rear and a crosswing to the north-west that is aligned north-east to south-west and later extended to the north-east. The inn is two storeys high and features one window on the right and two on the left, with slightly projecting crosswing. The windows are casements with segmental heads, and there is a door in the center of the main range. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, and the front room of the cross-wing contains some re-set 17th-century panelling over the fireplace.
