Description
The Forge is a house that possibly dates from the late 17th century and was restored in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a plain tile roof, along with brick integral end stacks that have lozenge-shaped shafts. The building is oriented north-west to south-east and has one storey with an attic. The façade includes three square panels at the eaves and straight braces, with three bays. The ground floor has 20th-century casement windows that are topped with hood moulds, and there are gabled attic dormers. A central door is set beneath a gabled timber porch. To the left, there is a single-storey lean-to extension. Inside, the roof trusses are exposed, featuring V-struts above the collar and three vertical struts below.
