Description
The walls, gate piers, and gates at Iscoyd Park date from the 19th century and form the boundaries of the forecourt and formal garden. The walls are primarily constructed of brick, featuring freestone coping, banding, and piers. They include battered revetments topped with a parapet. The entrance to the forecourt on the southwest side has a projecting wall made of rusticated stone, with square rusticated gate piers topped by prominent ball finials, and a wooden gate that has X-shaped cross bars. From this entrance, the wall extends in a northeast direction in front of the house, where the parapet is mostly made of freestone. This section steps in beyond the end of the house and then returns to meet the large coach house. This short return section also features a gateway with rusticated piers and pyramid caps, along with a wooden gate that has cross bars.
From the main entrance, the wall continues northwest along the side of the house before returning across the back. This latter section includes two flights of stone steps flanked by low rusticated piers. The wall ends where it meets the library bay of the rear wing.
