Garden wall, gates and gate piers bounding S garden at Talygarn

The garden wall, gates, and gate piers at Talygarn date from the 18th century. The wall is constructed of rubble stone, partly sloping inward at the base and topped with a yew hedge, except for the northeast end, which features brick with freestone coping and has a brick lean-to against it. The wall is tallest at the northeast end and gradually decreases in height along the south side, where it connects to a brick wall. At the northeast end, adjacent to the southeast wing of the house, there is a gateway, originally located further west, featuring a pair of round-headed iron gates set under an elliptical arch with moulded capitals, topped by a broken pediment. On the south side, there is another similar pair of round-headed iron gates, flanked by square piers, leading to stone steps with moulded treads. These steps ascend to a small landing, with additional flights leading to paths on the north, east, and west sides. On the east side, the path leads to a stone seat set against the wall, although the bench has now fallen, and it features a stone back.
