Description
The bridge at Adam's Pond, located in the woods south of Talygarn, is a 19th-century single-arched structure made of rubble stone. It spans a watercourse on the north side of an ornamental pool, with the ground rising steeply on the northern side. The round arch features a stressed keystone. On the west side, there are stone steps leading to a basin in front of the arch, while the east side has a wall that curves around the edge of the pond. Although the parapet is mostly missing, it originally ended in rendered square piers, with part of the openwork parapet still visible on the west side. The arch is flanked by tall inscription tablets that display engravings of romantic poems. The left tablet is dedicated as an 'Address to the Nymph of the Rock', and a third inscription tablet on the east side is dated 1897.
