Description

The Iron Bridge, built in 1840, features three low segmental arches that span a landscaped pond located to the north of the house at its west end. The arches are constructed of red brickwork and have a plain stone coping, which ends in brick piers that include some stone quoins, a brick plinth, and a moulded stone cap. The parapet is made of cast iron, with rectangular thin 'piers' featuring panels above the arch springers. Between these piers is an open railing, which is regularly divided into sections, each displaying a diaper pattern. Bow-like 'buttresses' are positioned at regular intervals along the bridge.
