Description
The Garden Pavilion at Vyne Park is a Grade I listed building dating from the late 17th century, designed by John Webb. This two-storey circular structure features a dome topped with a small lantern. It has four two-storeyed projections, each adorned with a pediment and pilasters set in from the corners. Above each arched doorway, there is an arched window, and the upper stage displays two tiers of narrow arched panels on the cheeks. The pediment includes a curved moulding, and a moulded fascia above brick brackets encircles the building at eaves level, complemented by another moulded band below it. The first-floor level is surrounded by a set of base mouldings. The curving walls feature arched panels stacked one above the other. The dome is covered with scalloped tiles, and the entire structure, except for plain stone keystones, is constructed of red brickwork. A chimney flue is attached to the upper part of one of the curved sections.
