Description
North Lodge is an 18th-century building, with later additions. It is a simpler and smaller version of the Garden Pavilion, featuring vernacular extensions. The structure has a scalloped tile dome above a two-storey circular form, with four rectangular projections. Each projection has a stone-moulded coping to a parapet and a brick dentil band that runs continuously along the eaves of the curved sections. The projections are set in pilasters that enclose one window above another, with a continuous plinth and recessed panels on each curved surface. The building is constructed of red brick. On the west side, there is a lower block with a vaulted roof, and beyond this is a walled area. The windows are casements. The east projection includes a gabled brick porch, which features pilasters, an arched opening with a stone key, narrow arched openings in the cheeks, a 'Tudor' door frame, and a boarded door.
