Description
The upper terrace wall in the south garden at Talygarn is a revetment wall that runs east to west and is constructed of rubble stone. The parapet has been rebuilt using blockwork but still features intermediate and terminal square piers. Central stone steps lead up to the terrace, flanked by similar piers, one of which is topped with a fluted urn adorned with relief masks. The steps also have a balustrade made of open quatrefoils. At the western end of the wall, there are two square piers that mark the path leading to the main south garden gates. On the eastern side, the revetment continues to define three sides of an additional terrace, which includes stone steps on its southern side.
