Description

The bridge in the grounds of Westover is an ornamental structure dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. Each side of the bridge features different materials and designs. The side facing Barrington Row is constructed from coursed stone rubble, incorporating some pebbles in the coping, and has a small horseshoe-shaped arch made with stone voussoirs. The parapet on this side is ramped up in the center. In contrast, the side facing the ornamental lake is made of ashlar and features a large central round-headed arch, flanked by two smaller round-headed arches that include keystones. This side also has a splayed parapet and stone coping.
