Description
The Old Rectory is a house, formerly a rectory, built in 1838 in the Gothic style and extended around 1880. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble with a tiled roof and features paired twisted brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and five windows. The right end gable has a deep plinth, and there are four paired Gothic painted windows with hood moulding above. The doorcase features a four-centred arched entrance with blank spandrels and a Gothic style panelled door, flanked by sidelights. The 1880 addition on the left has one gable with stone coping and kneelers, plain sash windows on the first floor, and a doorcase with a Caernarvon arch. The garden front includes an early 19th-century brick canted bay in English bond, with 12-pane early 19th-century windows on the ground floor and four-light windows on the first floor. Inside, there is an early 19th-century staircase with scrolled tread ends, stick balusters, and a wreathed handrail.
