Description

This is an 1840s detached villa of stucco construction, located in Edgbaston. The symmetrical design features a broad, three-bay front. The villa is two storeys high and has a plinth, faceted rusticated quoins, and a bed mould to the flat eaves of the hipped slate roof, with stucco chimney stacks. A bowed stair turret is present on the north flank. The first-floor windows are sash windows with intact glazing bars, set within architrave surrounds that are eared at the top and bottom. Ground floor windows are French casements, revealed in projecting pilaster strip frames with entablatures and blocking courses. A projecting enclosed porch has a moulded entablature and blocking course, leading to a six-panel door with narrow side lights and a rectangular fanlight.
