Description

This is an 1840s, two-story, three-bay stucco villa located on Charlotte Road, Edgbaston, with a coach house to its right. The central bay is slightly projected. The villa features a plinth and a deep entablature leading to flat eaves with a low-pitched slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The sashes retain their original glazing bars. Ground floor windows on the outer bays have architrave surrounds on block sills. Central ground floor and first floor windows are distinguished by Graeco-Egyptian eased architraves rising from a panelled sill zone on the plinth; the first-floor window has a moulded cornice. The doorway is flanked by pilaster strips with moulded consoles on acanthus stops, topped by a projecting cornice and blocking course. The door consists of four moulded panels, with a rectangular fanlight and moulded doorhead returns over the panelled reveals. A swept parapet coping extends from each house screen wall to the right.
