Description

No. 97 Gough Road is a detached villa built between 1845 and 1850, located in Edgbaston, B15. This two-storey building has a narrow design and is constructed of stucco. It features a plinth, a sill course, and a deep frieze. The hipped slate roof has flat eaves and is complemented by flanking chimney stacks with cornices. The windows are set within architrave surrounds; the ground floor windows have cornices supported by consoles, while the first floor windows have shallow block pediments adorned with wreath ornament. The entrance is marked by an Ionic column porch, which leads to a six-panel door topped with a rectangular fanlight.
