Description

GOUGH ROAD 1. 5104 (north side) Edgbaston B15 No 101 SP 0685 SW 46/15 2.4.81 II GV 2. C1845-50 a detached, 2 storey, 4 bay, stucco Italianate villa. Plinth; rusticated quoins; applied parapet to first floor the 'coping' serving as first floor sill course; bed mould to frieze with panelled metopes alternating with modillion console brackets to the flat eaves of the gable end slate roof. The inner 2 windows closer set with the porch below the right hand first floor one. First floor windows have architrave surrounds but those on ground floor have panelled flanking strips and panelled heads flanked by scrolled consoles to cornices over; left hand ground floor window is tripartite but with blind side lights. Ornate Corinthian porch with fluted columns, deep entablature, dentil cornice and panelled parapet. Deep panelled reveals and soffit to 4 panel door with arched fanlight.
