Description
No. 119 Gough Road is a detached villa built around 1850, featuring two storeys of red brick with stucco Italianate trim. The front of the building is symmetrical with three bays. It has a plinth, channelled quoins, and an entablature between the storeys, along with a bed mould at the eaves frieze. The hipped slate roof has flat eaves supported by spaced shaped brackets.
The windows are marginal glazed sashes; those on the ground floor are set in eared architrave surrounds, with coupled consoles supporting cornices above the window heads. The first-floor windows feature balustrades with an interlocking wheel pattern, flanked by pilasters with fielded blocks below their caps. These windows are topped with archivolt arches that have panelled floral spandrels and a moulded break in the eaves frieze bed mould.
At the center of the villa is a stucco porch, which includes fielded blocks below an impost string to the archivolt arch, large fielded spandrels, and a fielded panel on the frieze below the course, interrupted by a large keystone. The porch has a double panelled round-headed door and a glazed lobby door.
