Description
This is a pair of semi-detached villas dating from the 1850s. They were built as symmetrical two-storey, three-bay residences, constructed of red brick with Italianate stucco detailing. The buildings feature a plinth and a bed mould to the frieze. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the top of the walls, surmounted by a hipped slate roof and corniced chimneys. First-floor windows are set within cambered architraves, featuring flanking strips topped with consoles supporting moulded cornices that curve over the window heads, with moulded sills resting on pairs of consoles. Ground-floor windows have architraves with panelled pilaster strips, resting on moulded bases which flank the aprons, and elongated consoles that support dentil cornices. The doorways are similarly surrounded and include keystones and carved spandrels.
