Description
A pair of semi-detached villas located on St Albans Road, dating from 1852. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with stucco dressings, and have a slated hipped roof with tall, decorative chimney stacks, crested ridge tiles, and projecting eaves featuring large, enriched brackets. The design is symmetrical, appearing as a single dwelling. The buildings are three storeys high, with a basement, and have a five-window front. A central bowed bay window features thick moulded mullions and a case and panelled frieze that extends across the ground-floor window openings. Flanking this bay are entrances set within similarly moulded doorcases, each with a part-glazed panelled door and overlight. The outer bays also have tripartite sash windows on the ground floor. The upper floors continue the detailing with mullions and cases that correspond to the ground floor, featuring a central tripartite sash flanked by single sashes, and further tripartite sashes to the outer bays. The second floor has enriched plaster spandrel panels. First-floor balconies are supported by brackets and have cast-iron railings with cushioned composition dies. The interiors have not been inspected.
