Description

GOUGH ROAD 1. 5104 (south side) Edgbaston No 108 SP 0685 SW 46/22 II GV 2. C1843-50, tall, 2 storey villa with rather narrow 3 bay front and recessed service wing. Red brick with stucco trim. Plinth; stucco frieze with acanthus ornament; bracketted eaves to gable end slate roof with flanking chimneys. Close set fenestration: first floor sashes in eared, segmental arched, architrave surrounds with moulded sills on consoles; ground floor windows and doorway in right hand bay all have flanking panelled stucco strips and elongated consoles supporting faceted sections of entablature flanking the friezes, with dentil segmental pediments above.
