Description

CHARLOTTE ROAD 1. Edgbaston B3 5104 No 6 SP 0685 SW 46/3 II 2. Circa 1845 three storey stucco faced town home with 3 bay front ornately dressed with fancy Grecian details. Chanelled ground floor, the chanelling carried out over quoin pilasters, up to string course below lst floor. Upper floors flanked by giant quoin pilasters with incised Soanian panels. String course to 2nd floor and bed mould to frieze. Flat boxed eaves to low pitch slate roof, flanking corniced stucco chimneys. Intact glazing bar sashes in panelled strip frames with ornate console brackets (a selection of varied designs) supporting in eaves bed mould on 2nd moor and moulded cornices on lst floor. Moulded sills on small consoles. The right hand ground floor is a canted bay with similar pilaster strip and console details, part slate roof. Soanian plaster strip doorway with oversize acanthus consoles to frieze, projecting cornice with pediment blocking course and diamond faceted stops. Four panel door, fanlight with curved corners. To right hand a brick wall connects coach- house with 4-centred arch door end pediment parapet.
