Description
Nos. 11 and 13 Charlotte Street are a pair of terrace houses with shops, built around 1830. They are faced with stucco and topped with slate roofs, rising four storeys with a renewed dormered mansard. Each house is three windows wide. The ground floor features large double former shop fronts, likely a late 19th-century alteration, with broad flanking pilasters and a continuous fascia that has a dentil cornice. On the right side, in Percy Passage, the earlier 19th-century frame of the shop front remains, showcasing gorged end stops to the fascia adorned with a row of rosettes and a dentil cornice, along with blocked openings that have rosettes in their entablatures. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes set in architraves, with the first-floor windows featuring cornices and consoles on the sills of the floors above. A continuous cast iron flat patterned baluster balcony runs along the first floor, topped with a crowning cornice and blocking course.
