Description
No. 28 Newman Street is a terrace house built around 1760 to 1770, which has undergone significant alterations in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of stock brick and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall and is two bays wide, with giant pilasters on either side of the front. The doorway is located to the left, accompanied by a display window. The upper floors are fitted with full-width metal casements. At the top, there is a parapet with coping. A plaque from the Greater London Council commemorates the residence of the painter Thomas Stothard at this location.
