Description

This is a pair of terraced houses, located at 7 and 8 Windmill Street, dating from the late 18th century. Built of yellow brick with red brick dressings, the houses are four storeys high and each has two windows. The ground floor now contains 20th-century shopfronts. The upper floors feature gauged red brick flat arches over recessed sash and casement windows. A modillion cornice runs along the building at the third-floor level. Part of the third floor has been refronted and includes a parapet.

The interior of number 7 retains the original room layout to the first floor, along with some panelling. The front room on the first floor contains a plain grey marble fireplace. Number 8 retains the original room layout to both the first and second floors, including some panelling.
