Description

Two terraced houses stand on the south side of Highgate High Street, dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They are constructed of yellow stock brick. The properties are three storeys high and feature three windows on number 25 and two windows on number 27. Number 25 has a 20th-century wooden shopfront with a panelled stallboard. Number 27 displays a mid-19th century shopfront, notable for its bracketed canted bay window, panelled riser, and a fluted pilaster to the left of the shop door. The shop door itself has a half-glazed section and overlight, supporting a fascia and cornice. Recessed sash windows retain their original glazing bars, each set within a gauged brick flat arch. The buildings are topped with a parapet. The interiors have not been inspected. They demonstrate group value in the streetscape.
