Description

12 and 13 Percy Street are two terraced houses with later shops, built between 1764 and 1770 and altered over time. They were constructed by W. Franks, W. Richmond, H. Roydhouse, and J. Pritchet. The buildings are made of multi-coloured stock brick, with the upper storeys of Nos. 12 and 13 refaced to resemble the original design. They feature slated mansard roofs with dormers, stone cornices, and a 20th-century cement cornice on No. 13. The first floor has stucco sill and floor bands, and both houses are three storeys high with attics and basements, each having three windows. The windows are recessed sash with gauged red brick flat arches above them, and the buildings have parapets.

No. 12 has a 20th-century shopfront flanked by 19th-century stucco pilasters. The house doorway features a wooden Ionic doorcase with a broken pediment, a round-arched fanlight, and a panelled door. No. 13 has a 20th-century restaurant frontage and a round-arched house doorway with a wooden doorcase that includes pilasters supporting an enriched console-bracketed entablature, along with a patterned fanlight and a panelled door. The interiors have not been inspected.
