Description
Nos. 15-18 Percy Street are four terraced houses that were built between 1764 and 1770 and later adapted for use as shops. The buildings were constructed by W. Franks, W. Richmond, H. Roydhouse, and J. Pritchet. They feature multi-coloured stock brick with slated mansard roofs and dormers. Above the ground floor, the facades have been refaced in a style that mimics the original appearance. The buildings have a cement cornice and a sill band at the first floor level. They rise to three storeys with attics and basements, and each house typically has three windows, except for No. 16, which has two. The recessed sash windows are topped with gauged red brick flat arches and have glazing bars. The buildings also have parapets.
Nos. 15 to 17 have 20th-century shop and restaurant frontages, while No. 18 features a simplified reproduction of an early 19th-century wooden double shopfront with bowed windows from the 20th century. There is a square-headed doorway for the house. The interiors have not been inspected.
