Description
15 Charlotte Road is a Grade II listed villa built around 1850. This tall, two-storey building features a stucco façade and is designed with three bays, including a coach house. It has a plinth and rusticated quoins, along with a first-floor sill band and a string course that has a bolection profile. The eaves are boxed, leading to a hipped roof that returns to the sides. The windows are set in architrave surrounds, with the ground floor windows eaved and adorned with cornices and blocking courses. The outer first-floor windows have pediments, while the central window features a raised frame decorated with rosettes and shallow acanthus volutes at the base, topped with a cornice supported by console brackets.
A large, rusticated enclosed stucco porch has a round-arched entrance and arched sidelights, with an impost band and panels above. The frieze includes rosettes alternating with console brackets leading to a projecting cornice and blocking course. The first-floor sill band continues as parapet coping on the screen wall of the coach house, which has segmental arched doors. The rear elevation is constructed of red brick and features segmental arched windows.
