Description
No. 14 Church Road is a substantial detached villa built around 1840-1850, constructed from stucco and set back in a large garden. It features a coach house connected to the north-west side by a screen wall at the yard entrance. The villa has two storeys and a hipped slate roof with flat eaves and corniced chimney stacks.
The south-west front showcases two full-height canted bays, each with a hipped roof above. Architectural details include a plinth, a channelled ground floor, and a first-floor sill band. The windows are revealed sash types with later 19th-century glazing. The north-west side mirrors these details and includes an engaged Greek Doric column doorway with a deep entablature, accessed by a flight of steps flanked by urns. The south-east garden elevation features a three-bay design with a two-storey canted bay.
