Description

No. 26 Wellington Road is a villa built around 1830-1840 with a stucco exterior, similar in design to No. 25A. It has a symmetrical front with two storeys and three bays. To the right, a recessed link bay is part of No. 25A, while a small one-window section at the top floor rear belongs to No. 26. The building features slender quoin pilasters, a plinth, and sill courses on both the ground and first floors. It has a flat boxed eaves design under a slate roof, with corniced brick chimneys linked by tall parapets at the gable ends. The windows are glazing bar sash types set in architrave surrounds, with cornices above the ground floor windows. The entrance has a Tuscan column doorway similar to that of No. 25A, complete with a fanlight. To the south, there is a coach house screen wall with a passage door and segmental arched coach doors. The rear elevation is made of red brick, featuring stucco cornices on consoles for the ground floor windows and flat stucco arches with keystones for the first floor windows, all set on a sill course.
