Description

A pair of Italianate villas of the 1850s, built of stucco and semi-detached, with a symmetrical design and two-bay central sections set back behind two-bay wings. The roofs are slate, with projecting eaves supported by decorative console brackets. Chimneys are of stucco with cornices. The facades feature a plinth and a scroll band that returns to the wings. First-floor windows are set within architraves and have thin, moulded sills with panelled aprons; the architraves extend down to the sill course with console brackets below. Ground-floor windows are tripartite in the central block and single in the wings, with pilaster strips and console heads supporting dentil cornices. Console supports are also used for the window sills. Square, recessed porches with archivolt arches beneath entablatures are located at the angle of the wings. Number 35 has lost its front section but retains wall pilasters and an archivolt fanlight.
