Description
Lion House is a mid-19th century Italianate villa finished in stucco. It features a hipped slate roof with a modillion eaves cornice, rusticated quoins, and stringcourses. The front of the building has two storeys and three bays, with chimney breasts on the left and right that include round arched recesses with keyblocks. The eaves cornice breaks forward over these recesses and rises to tall stuccoed stacks with bracketed caps. There is a central porch with a rusticated round arch, a cornice supported by pairs of consoles, and a pierced balustrade. Above the porch is a small round arched window adorned with egg and dart moulding. The south front, which faces the sea, is obscured by modern additions. The east side features a ground floor bay window with three round-headed lights above.
