Description

Raleigh's Wall, located opposite No. 5 on South Parade in Budleigh Salterton, is a low stone rubble wall dating from around the 19th century. It features a slight curve and has dressed stone coping. This wall may be the one shown in the painting "The Boyhood of Raleigh" by Sir John Millais, who painted it while staying at No. 29 (The Octagon) on the opposite side of the road.
