Description
No. 2 West Street is a house from the early 19th century, built of brick in Flemish bond with a rubbed brick eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. The building has three storeys and a three-window range, featuring a double-depth plan. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door topped by a round overlight with decorative glazing bars, framed by a pilaster surround that supports an open pediment. Flanking the entrance and above it are tall 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, while the second floor has three 6-pane windows. All windows are adorned with gauged brick flat arches and stone sills. To the right, there is a two-storey, one-bay range of similar construction, which has a dentilled brick eaves cornice and features a 20th-century door and casements. The left gable end also has a 20th-century door and window, with a 12-pane sash and a 6-pane window above, both with gauged brick arches. The interior has not been inspected.
