Description
No. 84 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof with brick dogtooth eaves and a brick end-stack on the right side.
The building has two storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range that includes a lower two-storey bay on the right. The main range displays 6/6 sash windows on the first floor and 8/8 sash windows below, all featuring painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. The central entrance is framed by a Classical architrave with pilasters, a leaded hood, and a fanlight with radial glazing bars above a six-panel door, accessed by two stone steps.
On the left side, there is a lower wing that has two 20th-century windows above a segmental-arched carriage entrance with double plank doors. The exterior also includes a painted brick plinth and a blocked cellar-opening on the left side of the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
