Description

The New Inn is an inn dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is built of red and yellow brick in Flemish bond and features a Welsh-slate roof with brick dogtooth eaves and brick stacks—two on the front roof pitch, one at the rear, and a lateral stack on the left end.

The building has two storeys and a cellar, with a four-window range of 8/8 sash windows that have painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. An inn sign with decorative wrought-iron brackets is located between the left-hand windows.

On the ground floor, the first and third bays feature canted bay windows with pitched leaded roofs and horned 1/1, 2/2, and 1/1 sashes, all with painted sills. The second bay contains a doorway and a 2/1 sash window, both with painted channelled voussoirs and keystones. The doorway has a leaded bracketed hood, while the window has a projecting sill. Some panes of etched glass can be found in all the windows. The fourth bay has a segmental-arched carriage entrance with painted rusticated voussoirs and a keystone, featuring a double plank door with an inserted four-panel pedestrian door and a painted "good stabling" sign above. The building also has a painted plinth with cellar grilles.

At the rear, there are segmental-headed 6/6 sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
