Description

Cotswold House is a house dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of rendered brick or stone on the left side and to the projecting ground floor on the right; the right side features a timber-framed jetty with studding and plaster infill. The house is two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window front. It has an L-shaped plan. A six-panelled door sits to the left of the projecting wing, framed by pilasters and a flat hood on consoles. To the right is a 16-pane sash window with a moulded wood surround. A large 20th-century casement window is located in the centre of the jetty on the first floor. A late 18th-century bow window with a wood dentilled entablature is present on the ground floor of the left range. Early 18th-century twelve-pane sash windows with moulded wood surrounds are found on the first floor to the left and right, as well as on the ground and first floors of the side of the projecting wing. The interior of the 18th-century range to the left includes a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops and a plaster ceiling.
