Description

This is a house, consisting of numbers 1 and 3 Mill Street, built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed lias stone, with a 19th-century brick gable end on the right. The roof is tiled, with brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window facade. It follows a three-unit plan. A 19th-century plank door, with a flat hood supported by consoles, is located on the left side. To the right, a 19th-century six-panelled door, with a wooden lintel, is accessed by three steps, and there is a small 19th-century bay window immediately to its right. Most windows are stone mullioned with three lights, except for the ground floor centre window and the first floor right window, which have 19th-century casements instead of mullions. All windows have hood moulds and label stops. A further two-light stone window is present in the cellar, to the centre right, and a three-light mullioned window is visible at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
