Description
Birmingham House is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, which has been rendered and colourwashed on the front. The building features a tiled roof with brick end stacks and stands two storeys high, plus an attic, with a two-window range and a two-unit plan.
At the centre, there is a panelled part-glazed door with a wooden lintel. To the right of the door is a large plate window, while to the left and on the first floor, there are 19th-century three-light casement windows, with the one on the first floor right having a large wooden lintel. The building also has two gabled dormers.
Inside, the property has stone flagged floors and two large open fireplaces, each with chamfered timber bressumers. The ceilings feature stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
