Description

This is a late 18th-century bank, originally a house, situated on the east side of High Street in Shipston on Stour. The building is likely brick, now rendered, with a slate roof and a brick internal stack. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. The original plan comprised two units. A later 20th-century porch has been added to the centre, containing a glazed door. A hinged casement window, designed to resemble a sash, is to the left. A canted bay window is on the right-hand side, with an imitation sash window on the ground floor and an original, large 16-pane sash window on the first floor, featuring a moulded hood. The first floor also has two 12-pane sash windows with moulded wooden surrounds. Two hipped dormers, dating from the 19th century, are visible in the attic. The ground-floor plan has been altered to create a more open space.
