Description

Mallets is a shop, likely once a house, dated 1731. It is constructed of colourwashed brick in Flemish bond, featuring storey bands and a moulded eaves cornice, topped with an old tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The building has three storeys and a two-window range. The ground floor has a 19th-century shop front with a double part-glazed door and window, supported by pilasters that hold a projecting hood. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century four-pane sash windows with a rendered lintel and keyblock. The second floor features two 19th-century four-pane sash windows with moulded sills. A datestone on the left side of the second floor, shared with the adjoining building No.14 (Sandra), is inscribed 'JH/1731'. The interior has not been inspected.
