Description

Sillesbourne Farmhouse is a farmhouse believed to date from 1687, with later additions and alterations that include a former dairy to the east and an 18th-century range to the north. The building is constructed of brick with a Wilmcote stone plinth, finished with colourwashed render and a plain-tile roof.

The west facade features two storeys and four first-floor windows. There is a four-panel part-glazed door located off-centre to the right. The windows throughout are from the 20th century, with the right ground floor window and three first-floor windows set under elliptical arches; the window above the door has a keystone. A three-course band runs along the first floor to the right, and there is a modillion eaves band. To the right, an outshut has a plank door, and the gabled roof includes four gables at the rear, with end and ridge stacks.

Inside, the 17th-century section contains two inglenook fireplaces with bressumer beams. The kitchen to the right has two beams, while the left room has one beam, all featuring chamfers and ogee stops. The interior also includes exposed joists, six-panel doors, and a plank door leading to the kitchen. The staircase has stick balusters.

Sillesbourne Farmhouse forms a group with the Threshing Barn.
