Description

REMPSTONE WYSALL ROAD SK 52 SE (north side) 8/69 Grange Farmhouse G.V. II Farmhouse. C17, late C18, heightened early C19. Coursed rubble. C18 front of whitewashed brick, some render. Plain tile roof. Left gable and single rear whitewashed brick stacks. Dentil eaves. Rendered plinth. First floor band and first floor lintel band. 2 storeys plus garret, 3 bays. Central doorway with C20 door and overlight. Either side are single sashes, above are 2 similar sashes under segmental arches with single central blind segmental arched recessed panel. All openings with wedge lintels. To the rear is an early C17 coursed rubble and brick wing. Interior. C17 range with chamfered beams. Ground floor right room entered from rear through an archway with keystone and imposts. Ground floor left room with re-used early C17 panelling with decorative frieze. C17 and C18 doors throughout, some with H-L hinges, one with cock's-head hinges.
