Description

The Cottage is a mid-17th century cottage located on the north side of Main Street in Rempstone. It is timber framed with rendered red brick nogging, and has a thatched roof. A single ridge stack is made of red brick. The cottage is single-storey and three bays wide, with the right-hand bay gabled. A 20th-century door is centrally placed, with a tripartite glazing bar casement to the right and a single glazing bar casement to the left. Visible timber frame remains include wall posts, a groundsill beam, and a wall plate. The left gable displays the remains of three posts, a brace, and an upper cruck. Internally, there are two curved braces.
