Description

The Milk Pail is a 17th-century cottage located on the north side of West Street in Steeple Claydon. It is timber framed with brick infill and has a plastered right-hand gable. The cottage features a thatched roof with a central brick chimney stack. It is 1½ storeys high and consists of two bays. The ground floor has 20th-century leaded casement windows, with a three-light window on the left and a two-light window on the right, along with a single light window above in the thatch. There is a central 20th-century door. The right-hand gable has similar windows on both the ground and first floors, with a small paired casement window above. Additionally, there are lean-tos on the left and rear of the building.
