Description
Elms Farmhouse and Elms Farm Cottage are a late 18th-century farmhouse and attached cottage located on the north side of Main Street in Rempstone. The buildings are constructed of red brick with some rubble and feature slate roofs. Notable architectural details include dentil eaves, a first-floor band, and a band over the first-floor openings. The farmhouse is set on a plinth, with some parts made of rubble, and has two gable red brick stacks. It is two storeys high plus a garret and consists of three bays. The main entrance features a panelled door with an eared architrave and pediment, flanked by single 20th-century tripartite casements. Above the doorway, there are two similar casements and a smaller central casement, all with painted wedge lintels. To the right, set back, is the two-bay cottage, which has a doorway with a six-fielded panel door under a segmental arch. To the right of this entrance is a single tripartite glazing bar casement, with a smaller casement above, both situated in former smaller segmental arched openings, now also with painted wedge lintels.
