Description

This early 19th century house, now comprising two shops and a dwelling, is situated on High Street in Shipston on Stour. Constructed in brick with a Flemish bond, it features a stepped eaves cornice and a slate roof with brick stacks at the ends. The building is arranged over three storeys and originally followed a four-unit plan. A six-panelled door with an overlight is located on the left-hand side. Each shop has a 19th-century glazed bay window with hoods projecting over the central doors. Number 21, on the right, has replaced sash windows with 20th-century imitation casements. The first floor of numbers 19 and 19A contains sixteen-pane sash windows, while the second floor has twelve-pane sashes. All window and door openings are topped with rendered flat arches featuring keyblocks. The interior ground floor has been opened up to the rear.
