Description

This is a late 18th-century house, now used as two shops with living accommodation above, located on Church Street in Shipston on Stour. The building is constructed of brick, which has been rendered and colourwashed, and has a slate roof with a brick ridge stack. It is two storeys high plus an attic, and has a three-window front. The plan is of a double depth.

Number 30, on the left-hand side, features an early 19th-century part-glazed door with a plain overlight and pilaster surround. Adjacent to the door is a mid-19th-century shop front with a moulded sill and pilaster on the right, with a moulded hood extending over the door. Number 28, to the right, has 20th-century double doors, flanked by a mid-19th-century canted shop front with a moulded sill and a hood supported on consoles. The first floor of each section of the front has a twelve-pane sash window with a rendered lintel and keyblock. A small gabled dormer is present on the left-hand side of number 30.

Inside number 30, there is a large chamfered spine beam with run-out stops and a large open fireplace with a timber bressumer.
