Description
A shop, originally a house, dating to the mid-18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of probably coursed limestone rubble, now rendered, and has a tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It is two storeys high, plus an attic, with a single-window front. On the right-hand side is a 20th-century glazed door with a flat hood supported by consoles. To the left is a 19th-century canted bay with 20th-century replacement glazing and a moulded hood. A 20th-century casement window is on the first floor. There is a 19th-century gabled dormer with a 20th-century window in the attic. Inside, a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops and a large open fireplace with a chamfered and cambered timber bressumer are noteworthy. A staircase is situated to the right of the fireplace. The original plan was opened out in the 19th century, creating a range to the rear.
