Description
Vane House is an early 19th-century brick house located on Church Street in Shipston on Stour. The brickwork is laid in Flemish bond and features a stone band at the first storey and a stone moulded cornice at the eaves. The gables are coped with stone, and the house has a 20th-century tile roof with brick stacks at each end. It stands two storeys plus an attic and has a one-window range with a double-depth plan.
On the left side, there is a 20th-century panelled door with a plain overlight and a brick flat arch. Both the ground and first floors have large two-pane sash windows, also with brick flat arches. Above the eaves cornice, there is a Dutch gable that contains a small two-pane sash window. All windows are framed with moulded wood surrounds. The interior has not been inspected. The house is included for its group value.
