Description
Walnut Thatch is a cottage located on the north side of Tysoe Road in Radway, originally shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Mycote Cottage. It dates from around 1800 and was formerly two separate dwellings. The building features regular coursed ironstone and has a thatched half-hipped roof with a stone ridge stack that has a cornice and a 20th-century brick shaft.
The cottage has a two-unit plan and is one storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The entrance is located on the right return side and features a 20th-century half-glazed door with a wooden lintel. The windows are two-light stone-mullioned with chamfered edges, and the leaded lights were added in the 20th century. The attic includes mid-20th-century swept dormers, and the left return side has a 20th-century addition. The return sides also have two-light attic windows with wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
